The PCD 2020 is an intelligent 'Zone' master/slave unit capable of communicating via Modbus protocol, with up to 32 slaves, each slave having 8 I/O zones. The Zone-master may also be accessed as a slave by an external master. The unit will be customized via user programmable parameters for (number of connected zones etc.). All settings are password protected.

The unit maintains a real-time-clock (RTC) to log with time-stamp, to record the occurrence of important events.

Functions:

The primary functions of the Zone-master are: Monitoring the health of the zones, and reporting errors to the user when necessary. In 'Remote (Repeater)' mode, monitoring the Master FAS commands from the external system bus and transmitting the FAS Control user commands to addressable detection and Switching modules. In 'Master' mode FAS Control commands from the user are transmitted to addressable detection and Switching modules. Reporting its own health and that of the slaves to the external Remote (Repeater). Monitoring its own power-supplies (Main sand UPS) and reporting their health via LEDs. Logging important events with timestamp, such as Supply Failure, Sensor Failure, Outputs switched Command etc.

User Interface:

The unit interfaces with the user via: A 20 character by 4 line alphanumeric dis-play 8 keys (SET, INC, DEC, ESC, L-TEST,SYS-RESET, SOUND ALARMS, SILENCE ALARM).

Note that the keys (except SET) also double up as numerical keys from 1 to 7, useful for password entry. 3 pushbuttons (Are user configurable for Functions related to the Application of the Installation). A key operated switch will disable operation at the keyboard to prevent un authorized Operations.
